  Having almost been scammed by Fields Data Recovery (I didn’t send the hard drive in the end because I actually went to the fake London address that was a forwarding address), it took me about 5 years to finally build up the courage to send my hard drive in somewhere.

  I ended up finding PC Image through reddit where Sean is an active member and gives advice. I even called and spoke to him and was reassured over the phone that this was a good place to try.

  I sent my hard drive in and got all my pictures back for £354 (after VAT). Worth every penny!

  Once the files were confirmed, I bought a USB stick on amazon and sent it. They sent it back to me with all my data.

  Couldn’t have asked for better service and I now know where I would send any hard drive that breaks… except now I am smart enough to do frequent/automatic backups to the cloud 🙂

  After Dropbox wanted me to upgrade due to a lack of space, I moved the application from my application folder to the Bin and deleted it there. It never crossed my mind that I would be deleting my files and folders but this process did. Two years of self composed and recorded music were the big losses.I had been backing up my Mac but deleted old backups not realising they were incremental back ups.

  PC Image to the rescue! To start with, they could not commit to definitely getting a positive result, but thankfully after a few days they called to say a huge recovery had been made.

  The staff at PC Image were very quick to respond, they were able to help determine if it was worth while having a look at the damaged device before I needed to pay a fee. When the device was received they had to perform a physical fix to the circuitry in order to recover the data. This was from a Samsung m2 pci-e type device, so not an easy recovery. Excellent all round service, lots of communication throughout the process and a full recovery. Would highly recommend.

  From first contact with PC image the professionalism and confidence that they have was a great comfort, the USB drive I sent had completely failed and programmes like Disk Drill had failed to work and made the drive completely unreadable.   After an awful experience with Data Recovery Specialists (aggressive account managers and threats to delete my data if I didn’t pay them £670+VAT in 48 hours), I can only say I wish I had found PC Image first!! A friendly service and for sure the best value for money option out there. They recovered all my files within 24 hours, put them onto a 2tb hard drive, configured it to my mac and sent it out to me the same day for less than half what Data Recovery Specialists asked for. I have since received the hard drive and it works a treat, all my files are there and none of the quality has been lost. But they also said they would keep hold of the files for 1 month just in case I have any problems. I always spoke directly to the person who was dealing with my data too, so at no point was I having to deal with a commissioned account manager who didn’t know or understand the technical details of my issue.   A power surge damaged a 3TB hard drive I stupidly hadn’t backed up.
  I contacted PC Image Data Recovery with the issue and they diagnosed the problem almost instantly.
  I spoke to Kevin, who was up front, extremely friendly and helpful; told me what I should expect to pay and to send in the drive to see what they can do.
  While the drive was in their possession, Kevin called me every other day giving me updates as to their progress and how successful the data recovery would be.
  Out of the 50,000 files on the drive, only a few got damaged; they’re able to send you a list of what got recovered and what didn’t.
  I was then contacted by Sean who told me they were able to repair these files and emailed them to me separately.
  I won’t lie, depending on the service required, this can be quite a sting on the wallet for singular individuals, but it’s a specialist service and they do a specialist job.
